Casey

Casey is such a happy little boy with the biggest smile (and he's always smiling!).. It was super to photograph him this afternoon!

Proposing?

I was contacted by a wedding planner the other day and when I checked out her site I saw that she plans proposals! I think that is so neat, and a great way to make a proposal special if the groom is short of ideas or even if he has ideas but doesn't know how to go about making them happen.

Whenever I meet with couples I always have to ask how they became engaged because I love to hear their stories. One of the most incredible proposals I've heard of was a friend who sent his fiance on a scavenger hunt all over the city (she had to bike/kayak/run/etc from location to location to meet up with different friends and do different activites) and after her very last stop (a day spa) he was waiting with a ring! How creative is that?!

Oswego Hotel

Today the Oswego Hotel in Victoria, Vancouver Island opened it's doors. I photographed the artwork for their rooms, hallways and lobbies a few years ago, all landscapes from the island. It is great to finally have the images up on the walls!!

When I made my first visit to the west side of the island I was blown away by the beauty of the landscape, sooo many amazing scenes to photograph that I couldn't help being at the camera from dawn until dusk..

Simone

We lucked out with the weather this afternoon. It was pouring throughout the morning and stopped just in time for our photo session in the park. Simone told me a whole bunch of stories while we were there, and seems to be quite the water lover. Someone pushed the water button (there was a water-park area 30 feet away) and she immediately ran over and wanted to start playing in the water. It was all her father could do to keep her out of it!

New Site up and Running!

I love green (even my living room is green!) so it made sense to stick with that for my main colour, although a shade brighter than what I previously had.. The images on the new site also highlight more of the photojournalistic style that I am so crazy about capturing!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new site.. I plan to update it again by the end of the summer, just to keep the images current..

Danielle & Josh - Grouse Mountain

What an amazing couple! They had a beautiful wedding at the top of grouse mountain, overlooking the most incredible view of the city below. Their ceremony was so emotional, it just about had me in tears! Danielle had put so much work into a ton of amazing little details which looked super..
